Welcome BaselTech

The innovation hub of Basel has gained a new digital meeting point for the tech community. With the launch of the BaselTech Galaxy on the platform Innofuse Switzerland, the region’s ICT ecosystem is set to become more connected, visible, and collaborative. The new galaxy was officially introduced on March 9, 2026, during a launch event in Basel.

BaselTech is an innovation program of the Kanton Basel-Stadt designed to promote digital innovation and strengthen collaboration between startups, companies, and research institutions. Its goal is to further develop the ICT ecosystem in and around Basel while creating better conditions for startups to achieve sustainable growth.

By integrating into Innofuse, BaselTech now gains a digital home within an already established innovation ecosystem. Companies, startups, investors, and research partners benefit from existing networks, expertise, customer relationships, and collaboration opportunities, without the need to build a parallel system from scratch.

“Innovation does not happen in isolation, and ICT is a key cross-sector topic. By connecting BaselTech to an established and broadly supported ecosystem, we expect greater visibility, faster collaboration, and tangible value for startups and companies in the region,” says Marc Schindelholz, Head of Innovation Promotion at Basel-Stadt.

With its galaxy model, Innofuse aims to integrate industry-specific innovation initiatives into a shared digital ecosystem. A similar approach has already proven successful in Switzerland’s MedTech sector, where the platform acts as a catalyst connecting established companies, startups, and other innovation stakeholders.

With the BaselTech Galaxy, this model is now being extended to the ICT sector. The initiative is expected to strengthen collaboration within the Basel region while increasing national and international visibility for local startups and technology companies.

The launch therefore marks not only the start of a new digital platform, but also an important strategic step in the continued development of Basel as a leading innovation hub.
